Media spotlight on a Greenleas JFC team

Media spotlight on a Greenleas JFC team

Paul Miney27 Oct 2021 - 13:03

‘Freakishly talented team’

Greenleas JFC were in National media today, after The Athletic, produced an article on a Greenleas team that went onto produce some talented footballers including Tyler Morton (Liverpool FC), Max Woltman (Liverpool FC), Lewis Warrington (Everton FC), Sean Wilson (Liverpool FC), Matty Carson (Accrington Stanley FC), Joe Levey (Crewe FC), Sam Hughes (Chester FC), plus players such as Liam Hayes and Ben Cross who were as equally as important to their Greenleas team. Volunteer coaches such as Wes Warrington and Scott Morton enable grassroots players to achieve their dreams. The club is really appreciative of all current managers and assistant managers who are doing the same for the next generation of Greenleas players.

This article should give current Greenleas JFC players inspiration that boys or girls from Wirral can go onto achieve their dreams within football.

However, the committee are keen to stress that Greenleas JFC are an inclusive club and we are delighted to see players of all abilities representing the club, with the aim of improving and most importantly enjoying their football! As seen this week in the half term football course at New Brighton Rugby Club, for our mini soccer teams.

A link to the full article in The Athletic (subscription required) can be seen on the club Facebook page.

The club would like to thank Caoimhe O’Neill of The Athletic for bringing grassroots football to life in this article.
